Welcome to the new South Cariboo Chamber of Commerce website!

In the weeks and months to come we will be adding content and features to this site, in an ongoing effort to improve our communications with both Chamber Members and the broader community. Our ultimate vision is to create a powerful tool to advance our mandate of “providing a united voice for business and working to enhance the economic prosperity of the South Cariboo Community.”

Designed to be highly interactive, this site has three useful tools for improving our dialogue with everyone within and beyond the South Cariboo. On this page, we have a “News and Announcements” section that will endeavour to keep you posted on business related events and issues affecting our area. If you wish to post anything business related in this section, you can do so by selecting "submit news" on our Main Menu in the left column. We also have a “Forum” section to stimulate ongoing discussion about topical issues and a “Chatbox” for real-time exchange of information and opinion. Both of these sections are accessible to everyone, but only registered Chamber Members can contribute directly to these discussions.

Adding further to our improved communications with everyone, this website has an easily updated “Calendar of Events” page that will display any number of local events. While we are happy to post anyone’s local event on this page, we ask that each listing fall under one of the following three categories: Chamber Event, Member Event, or Community Event. To submit your listing, please send us the details - in order of preference - by e-mail (manager@scariboochamber.org), by fax (395-8974), or by calling 395-6124.

Your involvement in the development of this website is most welcome and we encourage everyone to check out and contribute his or her input to the process we have undertaken. Longer term, we encourage everyone to utilize the functions of this website and to contribute to the usefulness of this community resource.

The Board of Directors

"Providing a united voice for business and working to enhance the economic prosperity of the South Cariboo Community"

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Greetings from the 'News and Announcements' section of our new website! Over time, this page will endeavour to provide you with updates on issues and happenings affecting our beautiful South Cariboo region. While primarily business oriented, these comments will cover a broad range of topical news and we welcome all of your submissions. If its happening here or influencing our area from afar, we want to let everyone know about it!

As mentioned above and in the opening comments, we encourage you to send us related information you would like distributed to the broader community. Please see the preferred mediums for submitting your event details and news items in the section above.

100 Mile House Show n Shine Car & Bike Show

You're Invited!

100 Mile House is famous for its friendly hospitality and has hosted Show n Shines for years. This year marks a new beginning and we are launching what promises to be the biggest car & bike show in the Cariboo region.

The attached flyer and registration form - located in the 'Downloads' section of the main menu at the top-left of this page, under 'Community Service' - summarizes the activities and entertainment you can enjoy from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon. Our Swapmeet will feature only car and bike parts, so you can bring your stuff and shop for more on both days. Special events and features will be packed around the main ones listed on the flyer. For example, on Friday night at the 'sock-hop' you can enjoy a swing dance demo by Suburban Swing out of Abotsford and take lessons from them throughout the weekend, no partner required! We will also have Trials Bike performances by Outlaw Trialsport out of Vernon for your enjoyment. In addition, our local remote control plane club will have a great display set up on Sunday and we have a couple of amazing surprises coming together that will truly make these Hot July Nights!

The second page of the flyer lists some great deals on local rooms, places to eat, and a few of our many local attractions. Arrangements are also being made to provide overflow parking/camping spots for the huge crowd of car & bike enthusiasts we are expecting. On the bottom of both pages you'll find a registration form and advance order forms for both the dinner/dance and some first-class t-shirts. We encourage you to take advantage of the price discounts and to ensure you get some of the limited tickets for our 50's theme dance with Bobby B & the Beaumonts!

We also encourage you to photocopy and pass on these flyers to everyone interested in what promises to be a great weekend in 100 Mile House. If you have any questions, or reguire additional information, please contact our organizing committee. They can be reached at 250-395-6124 or at Email Link.
